The group is organised and run on a voluntary basis.  It is affiliated to the Walking for Health Initiative and Paths for All.  It is also a member of Perth and Kinross Sports Council.

Public Liability Insurance for our activities is covered by these affiliations, but members are advised to make their own personal arrangements.  While the intention is to encourage people to undertake independent walking the Group's organised programme as published on the Walks pages is managed by fully and appropriately trained and accredited walk leaders who take responsibility for the party.  All the walk leaders carry up to date BASP Emergency Aid in the Outdoors first aid certificates as required by adventure activity National Governing Bodies.
